Jefferson Symphonic Band

This group serves the most accomplished musicians in the Jefferson band program. The Symphonic band regularly performs works from the highest levels of band literature. Membership in this group is audition only. The group regularly performs music in the Grade V and VI categories, and presents five yearly concerts (Fall, Winter, Pre-LGPE, LGPE, and Spring.)

Jefferson Concert Band

The Concert Band is made up of all other Jefferson band students. The group regularly performs music in the Grade IV and V categories, and presents five yearly concerts (Fall, Winter, Pre-LGPE, LGPE, and Spring.)

The Jefferson Dragon Regiment

The Dragon Regiment is an all-volunteer marching band made up of any band students in grades 9-12 who wish to participate, as well as a group of guard members from in and out of the band program. The group has performed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, and in the 2013 & 2017 Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The band competes in the AAA classification, and has regularly returned Best of Class finishes in all categories. This years band features 111 of the hardest working students that Jefferson has to offer.

 

Jazz Band

The JHS Jazz Band meets after school in the second semester of each school year. The group is voluntary and non-auditioned, and typically allows many students to explore a secondary instrument. The group performs in the Spring Concert, as well as at the annual Music and Morsels fundraising event.

 

Percussion Ensemble

The JHS Percussion Ensemble meets after school during the second semester of each school year. The group is voluntary and is often made up of both percussionists and non-percussionists. The group performs in the Spring Concert as well as at the annual Music and Morsels fundraising event.
